Nota AI and LG CNS Sign MOU to Commercialize AI-Based Intelligent Transportation Systems for Global Market Expansion

SEOUL, South Korea, June 23, 2026 – Nota AI, a company specializing in AI model compression andoptimization, announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU)with LG CNS to commercialize AI-based real-time Intelligent TransportationSystems (ITS) technologies.

The MOU was established to combine LG CNS’sglobal smart city and ITS project execution capabilities with Nota AI’s AImodel compression and optimization technology, with the goal of expanding jointbusiness opportunities in overseas transportation infrastructure markets. Thetwo companies plan to broaden their collaboration across joint marketing, fieldvalidation, development, business development, and system implementation asthey accelerate their expansion into the global ITS market.

Nota AI is implementing ITS technologiesthat enable real-time video analytics in edge environments, leveraging itsexpertise in AI model compression and optimization. Through its generativevision-language model (VLM)-based video analytics solution, NVA (Nota VisionAgent), Nota AI can recognize and understand on-site conditions and support awide range of traffic management functions, including traffic flow analysis,incident detection, and the identification of risks involving pedestrians andvehicles. By reducing reliance on cloud infrastructure, NVA is designed toenhance real-time responsiveness and operational efficiency.

ITS is considered a key application areafor Physical AI, as it enables AI to assess risks within real roads and urbaninfrastructure and support traffic control and operational decision-making.Nota AI’s on-device AI optimization technology helps secure the real-timeperformance and reliability required in transportation environments, whileenabling AI-based traffic management capabilities across diverse infrastructuresettings.

LG CNS has been carrying out various ITSprojects in the global smart city market, centered on its Integrated OperationsCenter (IOC), which precisely analyzes and predicts citywide traffic flow.Through this collaboration, Nota AI and LG CNS plan to organically connect NotaAI’s ITS technologies with LG CNS’s proprietary AI smart city platformintegrated into its IOC, jointly addressing growing demand for the digitaltransformation of transportation infrastructure and the advancement of AI-basedtraffic management.

The two companies will also focus on theAmericas as a key target market and jointly identify concrete projectopportunities where AI-based ITS technologies can be applied. Through theseefforts, Nota AI and LG CNS aim to expand practical AI use cases that helpaddress urban transportation challenges, including traffic congestion, accidentprevention, and road operation efficiency.

The collaboration between LG CNS and NotaAI has already been demonstrated through the Nairobi ITS project in Kenya. NotaAI participated in the traffic management center project led by LG CNS,implementing an AI model compression and optimization-based smart intersectionsystem tailored for edge environments and establishing a reference for overseasITS collaboration.
