Nota AI's Signature Recipe

Welcome to a brand new space. I am the new Culture intern on the People & Culture team.

Our Teamblog has moved to a new, unified platform called the Nota AI Blog, and to mark the occasion, I would like to reintroduce you to what the Teamblog is all about.

Do you remember our very first post, "Towards Nota-ness”? It compared our team to the bustling half hour before a restaurant opens for lunch, and used that image to explain why we started the Teamblog and what kind of culture we hoped to build through it.

I think of Nota AI as "eleven thirty." More and more people seem to come looking for us these days, curious about who works here and what stories we carry. Thirty minutes before the rush. We're busy preparing to welcome our visitors with the flavor and language that make us who we are.
— from Towards Nota-ness

Since then, the Teamblog has steadily built up a real archive of stories. What started as thirty minutes of frantic preparation has turned into something closer to a proper recipe, refined through repetition rather than assembled in haste. This time, I would like to walk you through our signature dishes one by one, and share a little of the Nota AI way that is folded into each of them.

Take your time, and let us enjoy today's menu.

Allow me to begin with our most requested dish.

🍽️ Dish One: Inside Nota AI

Inside Nota AI is where we capture everyday life here in its truest form. It is our signature dish, in every sense, and quietly my personal favorite. This is the space where anyone new to us can gain an unfiltered, authentic sense of who we are, no prior context required.

Here, you will find our People & Culture team's most sincere efforts to build culture across the whole company.

People & Culture team is always out in the field to bring you the real story!
People & Culture team is always out in the field to bring you the real story!

  • A welcome guide for anyone weighing whether to join us. A candid look at how we welcome new teammates, from their first day through the whole process of settling in.
  • Behind-the-scenes stories from Alignment Week/Day, our flagship company event. A preview of the culture of alignment you will experience once you are on board, told through our team's own recaps.
  • Stories from our employee clubs, the ones that help us recharge. A window into how we protect work-life balance and what our downtime actually looks like.

Read through them, and you will come away with a genuine sense of the healthy culture and everyday life we have here.

This is also where you will see, more clearly than anywhere else, how our Core Values (CV) and Leadership Principles (LP) show up naturally in day-to-day life. CV and LP are not slogans pinned to a wall; they are rewritten every day, in the conversations we have and the choices we make. The way we plan Alignment Week, the energy behind our clubs, how we welcome someone new, each of these is a small window into how we live out our values in practice.

Everyone here acts and communicates with CV and LP as the foundation, and we want that foundation to remain solid enough that the whole company genuinely believes in it. That is why we continue to experiment through culture work, not only to state our values but to revisit and reaffirm them. And we are always considering how to make that process feel less like an obligation and more like something worth showing up for.

If you would like a genuine taste of the culture we have built, Inside Nota AI is the place to start.

Shall we move on to the next course?

🍽️ Dish Two: Team Nota AI

Team Nota AI is exactly what it sounds like: a collection of stories about the people who make this company run. It is the closest look you will get at what each team is actually working through, day in and day out.

One question keeps coming up in this space: "If you had to describe Nota AI in one word, what would it be?" The pleasure is in how differently everyone answers. Some say balance. Others say growth. Some say mission. Yet strangely, there is one thread running through all of it.

That is not a coincidence. The fact that everyone's answer differs is proof that each person has absorbed our values in their own way, through their own role. Those who have simply memorized the "right answer" tend to give answers that sound alike. Those who have genuinely internalized something give answers that look different on the surface but share the same underlying thread. It speaks to how deeply our culture has taken root here.

I have included an interview with one team member who captured that thread especially well, through the lens of our LP

Dongho sharing his thoughtful answer to the question, “How would you describe Nota in one word?”
Dongho sharing his thoughtful answer to the question, “How would you describe Nota in one word?”

"I'd describe Nota AI as a place full of ownership. Ownership is actually my favorite Leadership Principle. Like I mentioned earlier, even though it's company work, everyone treats it like their own. Watching people push through hard problems with that kind of ownership, that's what feels like our identity to me."
— from an interview with Dongho Ka

At Nota AI, people don't wait for someone else to hand them the answer. Instead, they find their own way forward from wherever they stand.

Seeing that, I've come to feel the same thread I mentioned earlier. Everyone expresses it differently, but underneath it all is the same instinct: not to wait, but to step up.

Among our Leadership Principles, I think "Ownership" captures that best. In the end, it feels like everyone's sense of ownership is what keeps us moving forward.

🍽️ Dish Three: Nota AI Opinion

"To bring NetsPresso into the world, we had nothing to compare it to. In other words, we were building something no one had seen before."
— from a NetsPresso development retrospective

Have you ever wondered how NetsPresso came together? How do you build an AI lightweighting platform that did not yet exist?

Nota AI Opinion is where anyone at the company, regardless of title or role, brings their hardest problems and most meaningful lessons into the open. It captures the obstacles people met while attempting something new, the insight that carried them past those obstacles, and the effort it took to turn all of that into a finished result. It is also where you can trace the thinking behind the polished achievements you find on our Insights channel or in the Newsroom.

What runs through everything here is a genuine respect for process over outcome. Rather than listing achievements, these posts focus on what people learned through trial and error, and how they eventually arrived at a better answer. This is not simply a modest way of telling the story; it reflects how we actually approach problems. When facing something without precedent, honesty about the process of finding an answer matters more than already knowing what that answer is.

If you would like an honest look at how Nota AI defines problems and the values we bring to solving them, this is the section worth savoring slowly.

🍽️ Closing the Course

The Teamblog is only one corner of the Nota AI Blog. There is a great deal more to explore. Insights is where we unpack how we think about technology, the difficult problems we have encountered in the course of our research, and the lessons we have taken from them, explained in a way that is genuinely accessible even if you are not in the field.

If I had to recommend just one piece, it would be [NVIDIA Nemotron Hackathon] Grand Prize Among 20 Teams: Behind Two Sleepless Days. Watching Hancheol, Geonho, and Geonmin push through a tight deadline, you can see CV and LP appear naturally at every turn: Trust, in how much they relied on one another; Ownership, in how each person contributed regardless of who was officially responsible for what; and Disagree & Commit, which they mention outright. It is a genuinely enjoyable read that shows how we work, through the lens of a technical deep dive. Beyond that, there is also our Newsroom, where the latest press coverage goes live, along with the NetsPresso website and our Hugging Face page.

Why does the Teamblog look a little different from the rest of the Nota AI Blog? Because we wanted its design to carry the mood and the stories that belong to it alone.

How we work. How we treat one another. What it took to arrive here. The Teamblog records the parts of the story that do not appear in a highlight reel. We hope these stories become memories our team members enjoy revisiting, and a window through which people outside the company can come to understand who we truly are. That is why we have shaped it into a space anyone can step into and feel at home.

👩‍🍳 Simmering away, always something on the stove.

The Teamblog's clock remains stuck at eleven thirty. I am still out there gathering moments, refining them, and preparing them into something that carries a little of our flavor, so that whenever you visit, you leave with something worthwhile.

So please, do stop by the Teamblog anytime. No occasion required.

And with that, I will go in search of the next moment worth bringing to the table. Until next time.
